Punkin sports her Hawaiian print sunshade as she struts down Kailua Beach, O'ahu. The plane trip was a bit hard on her (we were able to give her a puppy tranquilizer and she stayed in a carry-on bag under Mapuana's seat - actually on her lap for most of the trip). Upon landing in Hawaii, she was scooped up by the State Vets and plunked into her "cell" in quarantine for 30 days - most likely the longest 30 days of her life! We were able to visit her every day that was open to visitors (5 days/week) for a few hours. The day she was "sprung" from the place, she strutted out of there with her head high, tail a-waggin, not even knowing where she was going - just very excited to leave! Once she was home and reunited with her 100+ toys she sprang back to her old self and has been a member of the Lucky Poi Dogs club ever since! |
