Kamehameha Parade, June 2000

The sun shone royally on the Monarch Float coming down the Nimitz Highway in Honolulu.  King Kamehameha I is portrayed by the gentleman standing highest on the float with the red and yellow (royal colors) feathered helmet and cloak.  The 2 kahili's (feathered standards) borne by the kahili bearers on either side of the king signify the presence of royalty.  The royal guard surround the king.
